Shirley “Miss Mollie” Long began her clowning career in 1978. For almost 24 years she has worked at perfecting her clowning craft while carrying on a “regular” life as wife, mother, grandmother, career woman, and student!
In 1995, she put her career aside and returned to college full-time to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management. She completed her degree in 1998 magna cum laude and “plunged” full speed into her Master’s degree program. Not only did she earn her MBA (Master’s in Business Administration) with highest honors in a little less than two years, but along the way she was honored as California University’s 1999 Woman Graduate of the Year, named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges 2000, received the Business & Economics Department Service Award 2000, was nominated twice for Distinguished Woman Graduate, inducted into Omicron Psi National Honorary Society, was recognized as a Presidential Scholar four years in a row from 1997 to 2000, and completed a 15 credit certification in Multimedia Technology.
In her spare time Shirley enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, Erin and Shannon Kuhn (Stacey “ Sugar Pop” Kuhn’s pride and joy) and preparing to start her Doctoral work toward her PhD.
As the Clowns of America International Business Manager, Shirley looks forward to putting her many years of business knowledge and expertise to work. She welcomes the opportunity to work with all members and is available for questions and comments presently on
Wednesday and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
