Teresa Gretton

Secretary

Up

My clown name is "Blinky," given to me in 1979 by a small band of Shriner clowns who clownnapped me at the 1979 National COA Convention in Chicago. They applied makeup on me so I could experience the excitement of participating in the mall parade. You probably know me as the other half of the Bunky and Blinky team. I am also a proud member of the second oldest COAI alley, Kapitol Klowns, Alley #6. I have been serving as secretary of this great organization since 1996. Much of my time has been dedicated to the role of secretary, but I also have enjoyed writing articles for The New Calliope.

I have had joy in meeting so many of you these past several years at conventions, alley meetings, and through the email venue. With my hubby, Bob, we delight in lecturing across the country at COAI International Conventions, SECA and MACA conventions, and recently Kentucky Clown Derby in Louisville. I have fond memories as staffers at Clown Camp in 1999 and 2000 when we performed and lectured in LaCrosse and Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. My biggest excitement in clowning is each time I see a smile.

In 1982, "Blinky" and "Bunky" aired their own local children's cable television show entitled, "Clowning Around with Bunky." With advantages of television, stage, and corporate work, my knowledge of clowning has grown tremendously. Combined with school shows, parties, picnics, promotions, and other venues of face painting and balloons, experience has proved to be the best learning tool in this great art.

I invite any clown to contact me with questions, and I'll be happy to answer them. Bump a Nose!
