My
name is Bill LeBlanc and I am looking forward to serving as the new COAI
Northeast Regional Vice President. In 1992, after my wife and daughter had been
clowns for a couple years; I became tired of following them to events. I decided
the week of the fourth of July that year that my days of being left behind were
finished. By the end of that week, Dabbles was born and I became a member of the
South Shore Joeys Alley 159A. The South Shore Joeys is out of Abington, MA and I
was a member of that alley for 15 years; during which time I served as both
President and Sargent of Arms. With the Joey’s I have, furthermore assisted in
the production of the 1997 COAI convention held in Sturbridge, MA and many of
our local “Spring in the Clowns” weekend seminars which were traditionally held
in Plymouth, MA. I have been apart of a clown ministry team for several years as
well.
Over the past fourteen years clowning has become more then just a weekend hobby
for me. It is something that is a part of me day in and day out. I have served
as the COAI Massachusetts Ambassador for the past 6 years; moreover I have
immersed myself with the COAI family at the yearly conventions since 1996. It
has been at these conventions that I have participated in an array of events. I
have taken part in make-up, single and group skit, and paradeability
competitions over the last several years. Ultimately I achieved my goals and
placed 1st in both tramp/hobo make-up and in single skit competition.
On a more recent note, I have served as a judge in make-up, skit, and
paradeability competitions at a variety of venues. In my spare time I enjoy
making and lecturing on the art of customizing foam props. I have presented this
workshop for many of the New England area clown alleys as well as at the
International Convention. I look forward to and attend several clown conventions
and seminars each year to further my knowledge and skills in the art of
clowning. I believe that you can always learn new techniques to practice and
share with your local alleys or other clown friends. Again I look forward to
serving you throughout the upcoming year.
